In Ubuntu 6.06 my Dell A920 will work. But when I try to install the 
wireless drivers the system locks due to Kernel panic - not syncing : 
Fatal exception in interrupt.

In 6.10 the printer driver will not load but the printer is seen, the 
wireless sees networks, but can't connect to them.

To top it all off I was just given a Lexmark X1270, which seems to use 
the same setup as the Dell A920.

With these odds and ends, is it a kernel problem, if it is how do I fix it?
