Maybe, but be careful with trying this. Usually DVD players/VCRs tend not to let you do this and use Macrovision to scramble the signal. It might work but it's also highly likely that it won't. In order to record from DVD -> VHS or VHS -> VHS you used to have to also have a descrambler to circumvent the macrovision protection.

Not sure if that's still the case with the DVD/VHS combo units, but buyer beware ;)
