I don't know the details, but autoexec.bat can optionally still be
used with the newer Win OS'es.

Maybe with Vista it is back as there by default.  I'll let the other
engineer here worry about it.

FYI: I think he is actually building a quad boot machine
Win2k/XP/Vista/OpenSUSE as a test box.
