[ale] lvm help

Hi,

I have a disk that contains an LVM partition and I'd like to forage around a 
bit.  I don't really know anything about the disk but that fdisk -l shows 
sdb2 is a partion of type Linux LVM.  

I've looked at the LVM docks and I'm still not sure if I'm doing it right. 

pvdisplay /dev/sdb2
  No physical volume label read from /dev/sdb2
  Failed to read physical volume "/dev/sdb2"

Does this mean there is nothing on the partition?
