Look at PAR.  It can create a par archive files at any size you specify
that will have redundancy built it.   It is based on the Reed-Solomon
CRC.  Same CRC that is in CDs and used with probes we send to space.  If
you have enough DVDs you could actually lose one DVD and still have
enough data to rebuild what was lost.
