Sounds like a M$ Maps is a PITA broken  POS.

Maps.Google.com works in all my various Linux and Mac OSeX browsers.
Reports are that Maps.Google Works for all the broken windows people I've 
pointed at it as well, even when they haven't put Internet Exploiter in the 
bit bucket yet.

Looks like M$ maps is a predictable waste of time and bandwidth.
So why don't you want people to use the functional, innovative, Linux hosted 
Google Maps original again?
