I looked into this too, and what I seem to recall is that you had to:

- split audio and video
- convert video into individual frames (i.e. lots of jpgs)
- batch rotate jpgs
- re-assemble jpgs into video
- join audio and video again


You'd think someone would write an app to automate this, but I couldn't find
one either. Let me know if you find something!
