I bet I can tell you exactly what happened if you are running Fedora... You had
an X session crash or logged out improperly... This left a
stale .gpg-agent-info file laying around, which pointed to a socket that was
no longer valid. Logging out properly causes this file to be removed, and a
new gpg-agent created at the next login.
