I know HP is all "warm and fuzzy" with Linux printing. But setting a
date code on an ink tank so it "expires" 2 weeks after I install it
brand new really chaps my A$$ !
This is in an HP9100 series multi-function ink guzzling, paper mangler
(scanner, fax, copier, duplexer, card reader, coffee maker and snow
blower - well the unit blows but it ain't snow...).
I reset the date back a year on the dang thing so I can use the clearly
unsafe to use use, might cause insurgents to take over the ink-refilling
world, ink tanks I paid $40 each for about 3 months back (it claimed 2
had expired. Of course they worked in the other printer but it had a
worn out print head and so black is inconsistent).
I have been investigating other printers am unimpressed with current
offerings.
Grr. Maybe a goose quill isn't such a bad idea....
