Nothing is ever truly secure. While WPA2 is more secure than WPA, and WPA is more secure then WEP, and WEP is more secure than nothing, your best wifi security is running a VPN on top of the wifi connection. Alternatively, you don't necessarily have to out run a tiger to be safe, you just have to out run the other guy that is with you. That said, there is an argument that says WEP can be safe if used around a bunch of non-secured APs as the miscreants will focus on the lowest hanging fruit. YMMV. ;-)
