[ale] Ubuntu

Hello, 
I am using Dapper Drake I have just downloaded the latest updates for
Vlc.  It has got some issues.  WMA2 and WMA3 formats, you can hear the
sound but not see the picture. 
Has anyone had this happen to them?  I was out on the Vlc forum. There
are a good number of posts about Edgy. I don't think I am alone in this.
Any advise would be greatly appreciated.
