[ale] ALE CENTRAL for Thursday, May 11, 7:30pm

The feature presentation for the
ALE May 11, 2006 Central Meeting
will be:

"An Introduction to the Xen of Vitalisation"

presented by
Andrew Cathrow,
RedHat Solutions Architect

The presentation will be a brief introduction to virtualisation,
from business drivers through to the technical implementation.
Various virtualisation technologies will be covered, such as
VMware, Bochs and QEMU, but the concentration will be on
the newer open source project, Xen, a Paravirtualising
Hypervisor. We'll discuss the technical implementation details
of Xen with features and benefits comparisons to traditional
approaches. The finish will be a demo with shameless plugs for
Fedora and Red Hat.

About the presenter:
Andrew Cathrow is a Solutions Architect for Red Hat working
out of Atlanta. He has been working with Linux for 9 years,
RHCE certified for 7 years. Born and bred in the UK, he moved to
the US around 5 years ago - which, he suggests, might explain his
spelling!
