well I tried using smart ( new improved version of apt-get) but it 
couldn't find a "package" called gnome.. so i am trying yaST and 
checking all previsouly installed gnome thingies, and reinstalling 
them. I think MAYBE when I did the openbox --replace metacity, or 
something like that, maybe it screwed it all up??
