it attaches to the distributor & points. You use a timing light to set 
it up..in a V8 Chevy they were RIGHT up against the firewall at the 
back of the engine... VERY hard to get to!!
My daughter now has a Pontiac GTO, 6 Litre model.. the tag says " Lil 
goat". most people stare blankly and ask.. what does that mean??
