Here Paul, try this:
/sbin/iptables -I INPUT 1 -i <EXT_INT> -p tcp --tcp-flags SYN,RST,ACK SYN
--dport <PORT> -m state --state NEW -j ACCEPT
/sbin/iptables -I INPUT 1 -i <EXT_INT> -p udp --dport <PORT> -m state
--state NEW -j ACCEPT
Where EXT_INT is your network interface and PORT is the port you have listed
under Azureus (I got this from there Wiki:
