[ale] Thunderbird loads 20K+ newsgroup headers each time I click on a certain group, ...HUH ?

How can I stop Thunderbird from downloading 20,000 headers each time I click
on a certain group ?

It's not doing this for other groups, though they don't have 20K headers.
