You sound like me. :) I'm an xterm, vi, kinda guy. When I'm
manipulating files, it's on an xterm.
You might consider two large rotating lcd panels. Side by side,
rotated, you'd have two pretty sizeable windows for viewing two pretty
sizeable xterms. :)
