thanks for everyone's reply but it ended up being moot.

they were here (onsite) for a mtg w/department contracting them so I gave it
to them on a flash drive and had them scp it up to the target server over
their vpn.

(non-?)problem solved...

now back to important stuff like figuring out how to get my 6412 (Comcast HD
DVR) to use an external firewire HD.  for years man has dreamt of breaking
the terabyte barrier, the SAN enabled tivo or TAN if you will... ;-)
