Actually, I'm with you on the Dell, although a lot of folks seem to like 
them.  I posted a while back about the hp laptop I've got.  I purchased 
it for $499 a year ago at Christmas.  All works well, expect if you 
attempt to put a card in the mini-pci slot.  The hp bios disallows 
anything but their hardware. :(
