My bet is on the cable itself. Newer hard drives require the newer
(80 wire?) cables. The last box I bought came with the old hard
drive cables (unused and still in their original plastic wrap) and it
about drove me nutz trying to get the damn thing to boot before I
figured out the problem.
Could be you either have the older hard drive cable(s) or it is simply
defective.
