They are using Pentium Ms (iirc) which are descendants of PIIIs and a
departure from the P4 architecture. They run slower clock speeds but
are as or more efficient in the same way G5s and AMD run slower clock
speeds but have similar performance to P4s.
I don't remember the particulars off-hand of instructions per clock
cycle, etc. I did see something a few months ago how the slower Ms
spanked P4s in certain benchmarks. The other benefit is they run
relatively cooler - the attraction for Apple which needs a high
performance laptop chip.
