[ale] no MIME ?

I just did an upgrade to my SUSE 10.1 system, and now I am getting all 
my email with NO SUBJECT. Therefore none of my filters work,and allthe 
mail is in the inbox with NO SUBJECT. the messages say my email program 
doesn't do MIME.

HELP?
