[ale] weird command line history

Tonight I was poking around in a the source for a program I wanted to build 
and I hit the up arrow to go back through command line history. All of a 
sudden, I started seeing stuff that I have never typed on this machine, 
including a reference to a music file I have never owned.  My first thought 
was that I had somehow stumbled into a session started by an invader. Does 
this seem plausible?
