[ale] Registering a plugin in FireFox

I just manually installed J2SE 5 and applied the link for the plugin to
my .mozilla/plugins directory.  It works grep and applets are running.
The problem I have is that FF is complaining about installing java even
though I've got it work.  Above the applet it pops up a message that I
need to install a "plugin" to make java work.  Is there a way I can tell
FF that I manually did it?
