[ale] Audio Editing?

  I just recived a copy of a conference call that has alot of static and
the voices are real low.  I have the raw wav files and will convert to
either mp3 or ogg but I want to clean them up first.  Any recomendations
of linux software that's not going to take me a week to figure out?
