Have you tried running "locate" or "find" to see if libmozjs.so exists
anywhere on your system? On my system I found the following:
/usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/libmozjs.so
/usr/lib/libmozjs.so

How was Thunderbird installed? From an RPM, or from the installer on
mozilla.org?

What's the output of "echo $DISPLAY" ? are you running thunderbird as the same
user you are logged into X as? (I assume you're running X!)
