[ale] Linux NIS Master / Solaris Client

I am having a heck of a time getting Solaris 8 machines to work with a 
Linux NIS Master. The master is RH DT 3. The solaris boxes will bind to 
the master, you can use ypcat to get maps from the master, but you can 
not login to the box using an account in NIS. I can log in as root and 
use `su` to become a user. The automounter mounts the home directory 
with no problem. Has any one encountered this problem or can point me in 
the right direction?
