Thanks for the suggestion, but this is a laptop drive and their internal
clearances are nearly too small to measure! In particular, any weight on
the top cover is a definite 'no-No-NOOO!'. I once gently picked up a
laptop drive running on an extension cable, with my thumb and forefinger
on the top and bottom of the case. I was rewarded (&8-O) with the drive's
death-scream.
It _really_ didn't work well after that!
(Just in case it saves some other pilgrim an unpleasant moment!)
