Generally the shorter the call sign, the longer the person has been a
ham and the higher the rating they have.

I think.

>>> We have what we call hamfests. These are a combination of new
>>> equipment
>>> dealers, used equipment dealers and lots and lots of people selling
>>> their used equiipment.
>>>
>>> Use this link for hamfest dates.

>>>
>>>
>>> As far as equipment goes, Ham Radio Outlet, HRO, is on Buford hwy
>>> outside 285 just north of northcrest road. They have all the major
>>> brands in stock. There is also a bulletin board just inside the front
>>> door that has listings for used equipment and meetings and classes.
>>> They also have many good study guides.
>>>
>>>
>>> Drop me a line if you need any more information and if it isn't too far
>>> you are welcome over anytime to see what it is all about.

>>>>> Are there any local Lugs for Ham Radio?
>>>>>
>>>>
>>>>
>>>> I'm not sure about the lugs or the fees - but there are frequent
>>>> hamfests and from what I recall it's not too bad to get
>>>> licensed...your rig may be another issue altogether (Frys!) I'm
>>>> working on getting around to getting my license too. One of my
>>>> friends is a ham and got me hooked.

>>>>> Thanks in advance, (and sorry for the OT)-

>>>>
>>>> Not necessarily OT ... I'm far from an authority, but does anyone here
>>>> have experience using Linux w/ham radio operating?
