[ale] Mozilla in Kiosk mode

I'm running Mozilla on FC2 in kiosk mode with no window manager.  It
seems I need a window manager in order to support the select drop down
list on forms.  When I run X with no manager I can not use the drop down
lists. TWM sucks because it forces the user to select a position in X to
place popups.  I'm using a popup trick to make Mozilla run in kiosk
mode.  How can I add support for the select list box without adding a
window manager that is too intrusive?
