[ale] MYSQL with transactional support

I've downloaded and built a version of mysql, and even though the tables are 
created with Type=INNODB, I'm getting no transactional behavior.

As near as I can tell, the configure options have INNODB support enabled.

Anything else I need to look for?

P.S. Don't tell my MySQL doesn't have transactional support.  It does. And 
don't suggest another database, because it has to be MySQL.  Thanks.
