Sorry to add to the complete irrelevant waste of unLinux-ish cruft on
the list, but I *am* considering a Tivo purchase, so I guess you could
make a very vague connection there ;).

Could anyone who has Directv email me offlist and describe their
experience, good or bad?  I'm considering leaving Time Warner (our cable
provider up here in NC) for Directv, but they ask for a 12 month
commitment so don't want to go into it blindly.
