I found a BIOS setting that controls both L1 and L2 cache.

I have it disabled and memtest86 at startup indeed shows both L1 and
L2 are as slow as normal RAM.  So far so good.

Based on the feedback, I assume the Linux kernel will not override my
setting and enable cache?
