1. Verify you have the following line:
local_rcconf="/etc/rc.conf.local"
at the bottom of /etc/rc.conf
2. Add mysql=YES line to /etc/rc.conf.local
3. Add the following:
if [ X"${mysql}" == X"YES" -a -x
/usr/local/bin/safe_mysqld ]; then
echo -n " mysqld";
/usr/local/share/mysql/mysql.server start
fi
to /etc/rc.local
Then I think you're golden.......
