Appreciate the link, but it's unlikely I'll be able to replace the 
ribbon.  The one in question is sealed to the back of the keyboard with 
a clear sealant and the connection is not visible, which means I'd have 
to disassemble the keyboard itself.  I suspect that that end of the 
cable is soldered, so it's likely less effort to repair the existing 
cable then it would be to replace it.
