My Ideal candidate will be a well-rounded techie that knows PHP/web
development well, and has a taste for all things Linux. Well rounded in
this sense means willing to do Jr. Systems Admin tasks in addition to
PHP programming. We're a growing company, so we wear a diverse set of
hats around here. The more hats you can wear (that match our style, of
course) the better.
List of requirements:
PHP, Javascript, mysql, SQL, Linux, Apache, Basic networking, Computer
troubleshooting, etc.
Responsibilities will include:
intranet/web programming (about 50-65% of the time) - writing code,
configuring apache, SQL queries, etc...
general maintenance stuff (about 15-20% of the time) - networking,
troubleshooting, etc.
meetings (about 2% of the time)
slacking off (about 10% of the time) [ ok, I'm kidding about this part ]
What I'm NOT looking for is:
-a diehard programmer type that is only looking to program all day
-a researcher / professional student (someone that spends 80 hours
researching and learning how to do a 5 hour project)
What I AM looking for is:
-a problem-solver and solution provider
-an early worm^H^H^H^H bird (I know I just eliminated about 80% of the
candidates here)
-ltsp.org experience a major plus
-mrtg/rrdtool experience a plus
-XML experience a plus
-call center experience a plus
Send your resume to me _off-list_ in either flat-text, Word, or
StarOffice/OpenOffice format. In your email reply, please include any
projects that you may have worked on in your spare time, websites you
frequent, or anything else fun you've done with computers, etc.
Thanks,
Chris Bergeron
