FC4 uses the newest gcc-4. Anything you use that has "issues" with gcc
will be unhappy.

On the whole, the upgrade is a smooth process. The 32-bit x86 systems
have done very well. My dual opteron has problems with evolution just
puking often enough to think there's some redmond dll's hiding
somewhere.

DB's are another story. MySQL and PostgreSQL will be Major Version
Changes requiring a dump and restore process. OK. That should be common
practice for any db upgrade process. No issues with apache on upgrade as
FC3 was already running v. 2.x.

The one yucky point has been the sound in a website using flash has been
really crappy on my wife's system. It sounds like gravel, harsh and
raspy on everything. Of course there is no flash player for
x86_64 :( that works without a total memory meltdown after a use.
Macromedia has not release on for the opteron/itanium platform for
Linux.
