[ale] Find IP-address from MAC address

Hello folks,

I just recently got my hands on a N-port server. The only trouble is I do not 
know the IP address of the server, only the MAC address.
Do you know if it is possible to scan a network for a MAC address, and return 
the IP-address of the unit?

So far google hasn't been able to get me very far. I have a feeling that 
perhaps "arping" might be able to do what I want, but it won't accept the MAC 
address as destination.

Any pointers in the right direction are appreciated.
