I'm with you on that one. I pointed out in my e-mail that for
functional sites (e.g., a database powered site using one or more
databases and dynamic content), that's what I would charge. It kinda
gives the OP a reasonable benchmark for what he could/should be doing
for the "extra" little bit of a workload he is persuing.
It wasn't meant to be "elistist" in the slightest. Honestly, however, I
don't do work like that, hence I can't say what I'd charge because I
haven't the slightest idea. When I have friends that want work done,
they aren't willing to pay for it, so I say, "here's some links on the
Internet that will get you going."
