He doesnt do much text writing etc. and does not need formal things like
OO or Word so I taught
him the basic VIM and he is fine.
The biggest feature for him is that it Never Never crashes out from
under him and he doesnt have to
worry about anyone compromising his hard disks with some type of virus
since it is all run from memory.
This is especially important with email.
Also, I must have reloaded Win98 50 times for him in the last
3-4 years, and that does not happen anymore as his net access is via
Knoppix.
When he wants to save something I have him mount his disk momentarily,
write the data and unmount
the disk.
Klaus Kopper is to be congatulated for his efforts, he is a true Patriot
of Linux.
