I think that's where I'm going to end up. I had gotten a suffix to "stick"
when I built gcc-3.3.x in a RH-7.2 environment and was surprised it didn't
seem to work this time. I expect to ultimately have suites of tools for
different targets, and putting them on different branches sounds good.
