[no subject]

I had to also change mode to managed since for some reason  ad-hoc was default.
iwconfig eth1 mode managed
Then..
iwconfig eth1 enc open
iwconfig eth1 enc XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
iwconfig eth1 essid blah
