[ale] Mail Constipation

As some of you may recall, All my ALE mail to this address had stopped 
"arriving" some many weeks ago.  It was most odd.  This problem has remedied 
itself, and I now have 1100+ unread mail messages in my ALE folder. I still 
have no idea WHY this blockage occurred.  I looked in the message headers, 
and they all say that the mail arrived "in a timely manner", however they 
were clearly stuck in some sub-system/queue somewhere.
