Yeah...I've had that "kinda" working.  I can add the server as an LDAP
server and do the above, and I do get search results back, although each
time I search I also get "Unable to perform search. This query did not
complete successfully".  Weird, huh? :)

That's why I had hoped to get it working as the true GAL.
