Responsibilities
* Maintains Red Hat Linux Servers to provide optimum performance and
system availability. 
* Define and maintain Linux kickstart and satellite server environments.
* Work with software vendors to ensure application software is installed
correctly and maintenance levels are current. 
* Integration of Linux servers into enterprise environment including
monitoring, backup and scheduling.
* Provide technical support to various system development teams and
their applications.
* Develop required script/programs for advanced administrative tasks
using shell scripting, Perl, C or equivalent.

Qualifications
* Three years of operational experience in medium to large environments
* Five to seven years of previous systems administration experience,
with at least 3 years of Red Hat Linux system administration
* Solid understanding of Red Hat Linux operating system: paging &
swapping, inter-process communication, devices and device drivers, files
system concepts, inode, superblock
* Solid experience in network services such as HTTP, DNS, FTP, NFS,
etc.; knowledge of network security methods for Linux systems
* Performance analysis and tuning of Linux environments
* Expert understanding of networking/distributed computing environment
concepts; principles of routing, client/server programming and
network-wide filesystems
* Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
* Strong inter-personal and communication skills
* Ability to solve problems quickly and completely
