[ale] the Goneme project



Some dissident Gnome developers have decided that the dependency nightmare 
that is Gnome has become too much. They also want more features aimed at 
higher-level users. Here is one quote from their manifesto:

"Of primary concern to us is the proliferation of coding languages and 
toolkits, all piled on top of the original small set. Everyone should be free 
to choose the toolkit they feel best frames their application. The problem is 
that the default GNOME installation depends on far too many different 
toolkits simply to get GNOME compiled. For example, if we remove the current 
Python dependency alone, we reduce 40MB of space which is used for just one 
50kb libglade-convert Python file within GNOME."
