[ale] UTF-8 in Linux

Hi All,

    If my linux system is setup to support UTF-8, can I have UTF-* 
characters in files like /etc/passwd and /etc/group? What about UTF-8 in 
my NIS domain name? NFS Mount points? Samba Share names? Anyone know 
where I can find answers to questions like this?
