[ale] SNMP Forwarding

Does anyone know if there is a specification on how to forward SNMP
traps?  Normally an SNMP server would look at the IP headers for a
source address but if there is an agent in the middle that forwards the
trap then the source address would be changed.  I wonder if there is a
specification on encapsulation of an snmp trap so it can be forwarded
unmodified.  I do not want to make up a specification because I want to
be able to forward traps to HP OpenView, NetCool, etc.  I need something
they understand.
