No, it's a AMD Athlon 2200+ XP with 512 mb ram on a Gigabyte GA-7VRX mb
that's run Linux just fine for the past two years.  It ran the current
distro just fine as well up until last week, when I jerked a couple of
cards out and removed and moved the drive (was slaved to another drive) to
master.

I suppose the removal of the other cards could have caused an interrupt
problem?
