I've only used the network interface.  I found it quite simple to set up 
for the network though.  There's a menu option on the front of the 
printer where you can set the ip of the printer.

Also, I just realized the other day that you can access the printer via 
a web browser.  You can check the status, and cartidge levels.  Pretty cool.

You will likely have to install the drivers manually.  It's not that 
difficult.  You can find the latest drivers here:
